Jej\u00ed vok\u00e1ly jsou \u010dasto siln\u011b zefektovan\u00e9, vrstven\u00e9 a \u00e9terick\u00e9. Na debutov\u00e9m albu <em>Garlands<\/em> (1982) byl jej\u00ed projev je\u0161t\u011b siln\u011b ovlivn\u011bn post-punkovou estetikou a temn\u011bj\u0161\u00edm stylem <strong>Siouxsie Sioux<\/strong>, co\u017e kapele v po\u010d\u00e1tc\u00edch vyneslo n\u00e1lepku &#8222;n\u00e1sledovn\u00edk\u016f Siouxsie and the Banshees&#8220;. Velmi rychle se v\u0161ak vyvinula sm\u011brem k abstraktn\u00edmu nebo <strong>nelyrick\u00e9mu jazyku<\/strong>, n\u011bkdy ozna\u010dovan\u00e9mu jako <strong>glossolalia<\/strong> (mluven\u00ed v jazyc\u00edch, kter\u00e9 nen\u00ed srozumiteln\u00e9). Pou\u017e\u00edval rozs\u00e1hl\u00e9 efekty (delay, reverb, pitch shifting), aby vytvo\u0159il <strong>komplexn\u00ed a atmosf\u00e9rick\u00e9 kytarov\u00e9 plochy<\/strong>, kter\u00e9 se \u010dasto sl\u00e9valy v hustou, jisk\u0159ivou &#8222;st\u011bnu zvuku&#8220;, je\u017e tvo\u0159\u00ed z\u00e1klad jejich \u00e9terick\u00e9ho zvuku.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spolu s labelem 4AD, na kter\u00e9m vyd\u00e1vali v\u011bt\u0161inu sv\u00fdch nahr\u00e1vek, kapela definovala estetiku, kter\u00e1 ovlivnila celou \u0159adu pozd\u011bj\u0161\u00edch hudebn\u00edk\u016f v oblasti alternativn\u00edho rocku, dream popu a shoegaze. Remastering, na kter\u00fd dohl\u00ed\u017eel s\u00e1m Robin Guthrie, dodal nahr\u00e1vk\u00e1m oproti p\u016fvodn\u00edm desk\u00e1m z 80. let v\u011bt\u0161\u00ed hutnost a d\u016fraz na basy. I kdy\u017e je zvuk modern\u011bj\u0161\u00ed a pln\u011bj\u0161\u00ed, tento konkr\u00e9tn\u00ed v\u00fdlisek z lod\u011bnick\u00e9 GZ Media s sebou nese jist\u00e1 rizika \u2013 zejm\u00e9na u tich\u00e9 skladby \u201eLazy Calm\u201c na stran\u011b C se \u010dasto objevuje zv\u00fd\u0161en\u00fd povrchov\u00fd \u0161um, kter\u00fd je pro barevn\u00e9 vinyly z t\u00e9to produkce typick\u00fd. Zaj\u00edmav\u00fdm detailem je tak\u00e9 volba krat\u0161\u00ed sedmipalcov\u00e9 verze u skladby \u201eLorelei\u201c nam\u00edsto t\u00e9 albov\u00e9.
