Breakout se rychle etabloval jako jedna z nejd\u016fle\u017eit\u011bj\u0161\u00edch formac\u00ed polsk\u00e9ho rocku \u0161edes\u00e1t\u00fdch a sedmdes\u00e1t\u00fdch let. Skupina se inspirovala p\u0159edev\u0161\u00edm britskou bluesovou sc\u00e9nou a psychedelick\u00fdm rockem, o \u010dem\u017e sv\u011bd\u010d\u00ed i n\u00e1zev inspirovan\u00fd Johnem Mayallem a jeho The Bluesbreakers. Jejich ran\u00e1 tvorba se nesla v duchu psychedelie a progresivn\u00edho rocku, pozd\u011bji se kapela pln\u011b p\u0159iklonila k \u010dist\u00e9mu blues a blues-rocku. I p\u0159es zna\u010dn\u00fd \u00fasp\u011bch u publika, zejm\u00e9na po vyd\u00e1n\u00ed debutu a alba Blues (1971), \u010delila skupina v 70. letech kritice polsk\u00fdch masm\u00e9di\u00ed za \u201eproz\u00e1padn\u00ed\u201c \u017eivotn\u00ed styl a dlouh\u00e9 vlasy, co\u017e vedlo k z\u00e1kazu vys\u00edl\u00e1n\u00ed jejich skladeb v r\u00e1diu a televizi, a t\u00edm i ke zpomalen\u00ed jejich kari\u00e9ry v Polsku. V kontextu V\u00fdchodn\u00edho bloku p\u0159edstavoval Breakout jednu z nejautenti\u010dt\u011bj\u0161\u00edch a um\u011blecky nejodv\u00e1\u017en\u011bj\u0161\u00edch odpov\u011bd\u00ed na tento v\u00fdvoj. Zat\u00edmco se \u010deskoslovensk\u00e1 sc\u00e9na po roce 1968 musela pot\u00fdkat s tvrdou normalizac\u00ed (co\u017e vedlo nap\u0159. k rozpadu The Primitives Group nebo k undergroundov\u00e9mu p\u016fsoben\u00ed The Plastic People of the Universe), Polsko, by\u0165 s cenzurn\u00edmi z\u00e1sahy, umo\u017e\u0148ovalo v\u011bt\u0161\u00ed ve\u0159ejn\u00e9 p\u016fsoben\u00ed rockov\u00fdch kapel. Breakout se v tomto srovn\u00e1n\u00ed svou technickou zru\u010dnost\u00ed a Nalepov\u00fdm kytarov\u00fdm stylem bl\u00ed\u017e\u00ed sp\u00ed\u0161e z\u00e1padn\u00edm vzor\u016fm (jak nazna\u010duje inspirace Hendrixem, zm\u00edn\u011bn\u00e1 u debutu) ne\u017eli tehdej\u0161\u00edmu \u010deskoslovensk\u00e9mu rocku, kter\u00fd \u010dasto sklouz\u00e1val k progresivn\u00edmu rocku (nap\u0159. Vydan\u00e9 u Polskie Nagrania Muza (SX 1766), nahran\u00e9 v b\u0159eznu 1979, p\u0159in\u00e1\u0161\u00ed dev\u011bt skladeb od \u00favodn\u00ed \u201eP\u00f3ki u\u015bmiech ma twarz dziecka\u201c p\u0159es melancholick\u00fd \u201ePo\u017cegnalny blues\u201c a\u017e po z\u00e1v\u011bre\u010dn\u00fd \u201eW cieniu bluesa\u201c. Hudbu slo\u017eil a aran\u017eoval Tadeusz Nalepa, texty napsal Bogdan Loebl, vok\u00e1ly dodala Mira Kubasi\u0144ska, rytmiku obstaral Marek Surzyn na bic\u00ed a Krystian Wilczek na basu.
